FAQ

  • Do I bring a gun to class?
No. Neither Oregon nor Utah require qualification with a firearm. If you’d like to spend time at a local range, we can negotiate a time and price for a training session. During this training session, we’ll field-strip your gun, properly prepare it for firing and safely practice shooting on 15’ and 25’ ranges.
  • Minimum age, how old do I have to be to take the class?"
    21 years of age.
  • How quickly can I get my permit after I take the class?
In Oregon, you can immediately complete an online application and schedule an appointment to meet with representative at the Lane County Sheriff’s Department. The State of Utah requires that you complete an online application, provide a completed fingerprint card, and offer a 2”x2” passport picture. You must mail these items to the Utah Bureau of Criminal Identification and then wait to receive your non-residential permit.
  • Can I bring somebody with me? What should I bring to class?
Please bring pen, paper and your curiosity. You can bring a friend, but they’ll need to register and pay during the class.
  • Is there a break during the class? How many people are in a class?
Yes, we take a 10 minute break. No more that 15 people participate in any class.
  • Where is the class taught? Parking?
